composing / production
As a composer and music producer, I help develop a piece from its first musical idea through to the final production details – working on its structure, arrangement, sound palette and overall direction. My approach is built around the song itself: its emotional direction, internal movement and the sound world that best supports it.
I work in a hybrid analogue/digital studio, combining hardware synthesizers and vintage samplers with virtual instruments, detailed acoustic instrument libraries and modern production tools. This gives each production a broad palette, making it possible to bring different sound sources and textures into a coherent musical world that best serves each creative context.
My background as a classically trained pianist also allows me to contribute piano parts and keyboard-based arrangement ideas when they serve the project.
mixing
As a mixing engineer, I aim to create dynamic mixes with energy, depth and emotional impact, while ensuring clarity. A mix should carry the message of the song and translate reliably across different listening environments. This is why I listen first for the intention behind the track and make sure the mix serves that message while holding together across real-world playback systems.
The studio is equipped with a calibrated full-range monitoring system in an acoustically treated room, allowing every layer and nuance of the mix to be judged and refined with confidence.
Most of my mixing work is done in the box, with selected hardware processing used when it genuinely serves the track – for example, to add weight, harmonic character or a more physical quality to a sound. The goal is not to apply a fixed formula, but to bring the song into focus while preserving the artist’s original intent.

ABOUT
Gregory Khozov is a composer, music producer and mixing engineer. His background includes the David Lynch-selected remix of “Good Day Today,” later officially released; original music for the U.S. short film “Retribution”; and multiple semi-finalist placements as a composer in the International Songwriting Competition and Unsigned Only Music Competition.
His studio approach combines analogue hardware, vintage instruments and modern production workflow, with close attention to arrangement, sound character and the way each production ultimately comes together in the mix. The emphasis is not on technology for its own sake, but on choosing and combining the right source and process for each musical context. This keeps the process flexible, allowing each project to combine analogue character with the precision and range of modern digital tools.
The studio environment is set up to support creative sound work as well as reliable production and mixing decisions, with full-range monitoring in an acoustically treated room.
Alongside his studio work, Gregory has contributed to the professional audio field through technical writing and educational work, as well as interviews and case-study materials for international specialist publications and industry platforms.
Whether composing, producing or mixing, his focus is on helping each track find its strongest form – through arrangement, sonic choices and mix decisions that support the song itself.
